Happy Thanksgiving to all! Here is your west coast/southwest coast fishing report. Hotfish Charters covers Tampa bay down to Charlotte harbor waters. The cooler temps have arrived and we are fishing mid 60devree water temps, with this being said, are fishing adjusts to the change.
Inshore charters are providing improving trout catches around flats close to the passes and around spoils! Better numbers are showing up daily. A combination of shrimp and or live pilchards are working. Artificial lures are a great way to locate better numbers of fish then switch over to live bait.
Redfish are being caught around oyster beds on higher water and in potholes around the grass flats on lower water up and down the coast.
Snook are heading to rivers, canals, and docks closer to the main shore. The snook bite slows down with these cooler temps, but we are still catching quality fish.
Ok, let’s talk offshore!
Tripletail are on the menu every trip. We are finding them around crab traps in the sound and offshore.
Cobia are roaming g the offshore wrecks and bigger rock piles. Also, we are catching them around certain flats inshore. The cobia we find are cruising the backs of big southern stingrays and it’s a sight casters dream!
Gag grouper in shallow water are biting strong and should remain good till closure on Jan 1
Bonus species this week are pompano around the passes and bluefish!
Everyone your loved ones and enjoy Thanksgiving!
God Bless America!
